WORKING AT PÖYRY
Our People
Our competitive difference in the marketplace has always been the quality of our people. We know that we invest more effort, time and diligence in the professional development of our staff than our competitors do. Our employees tell us so.
We make the move overseas for you and your family a trouble-free process by guiding you through the relocation process and helping and advising at every single step. This will include aspects such as visa and work permit applications and will also make sure that family matters such as housing and schooling meets your needs.
Meet some Pöyry People
Steve Gough My aspirations for the company is for us to quickly make our mark and to demonstrate to the market our expertise in front end engineering studies and operations support. We will have particular emphasis on what we see as an underserviced market of operations support for in-situ thermal recovery projects, especially SAGD, where we will apply our heavy oil and operations support expertise, processes and systems. I am hoping to build strong relationships with clients both existing, in terms of our Canadian clients whom we work for across the globe and new. I am also excited by the opportunity to offer Pöyry employees, existing and new, Canadian and overseas, a fantastic opportunity to develop their careers in one of the most desirable countries and cities to live in the world, whilst working for an ambitious company, performing interesting and challenging work. I look forward to working with Pöyry’s clients and employees in my new home in Calgary." | ![]() |
| Craig On a personal level, I’m looking forward to the challenge of establishing myself in a new environment, to see more of North America and to grow as a person and possibly even as a family. What I am particularly looking forward to is the multitude of outdoor opportunities afforded by being so close to the Rocky Mountains.” |
Cathy In 2001, I spent a year in Norway assisting with the start up of the new Stavanger office. In addition to helping build up the company client base I was also able to take advantage of the snow and learnt to ski: something I hope to continue in Canada. I’m looking forward to a new and different industry with its own challenges and environment." | ![]() |
| Saqib I’m looking forward to the opportunities that Pöyry Energy (Calgary) will represent. Looking forward, I hope to enjoy a new working environment bringing with it understanding of new engineering problems. I am also looking forward to the challenges that represents and hope to be able to offer my software expertise for novel solutions to engineering problems." |
